Guest Nights by Month
Person-nights exactly as the Agency published them. Guest nights are strongly seasonal, so the second view separates Japanese from foreign guests, which move on different cycles, and the third indexes each month against the same month of 2019 — the last full year before the border closed.
Room Occupancy by Hotel Type
The published room occupancy rate, in percent. A rate is a ratio, so it is differenced rather than divided and is never averaged across areas here. Business and city hotels carry the inbound trade; ryokan and company lodging move on domestic demand.
Foreign Guest Nights by Nationality
Which visitors slept here, on the latest published month. This table covers larger properties only — 20 rooms or more from 2026, 10 or more employees before — so shares are taken against that table's own published total, not against the all-properties foreign guest nights. Guests whose nationality the survey did not identify are shown as a disclosed residual, never spread across the named categories.
Demand Mix
The same guest nights read three other ways. Purpose classifies the property, not the guest: a property is counted as leisure when at least half of its guests stayed for leisure. Residence separates guests from inside the prefecture from those who travelled to it. Property size is published from January 2026 only, when the survey changed from stratifying by employee count to stratifying by room count.
